Life insurance is the best tool to secure your families future. I remember getting the cash value from my whole life policy that my parents set up when I was 18. Was so happy to get a check for 15k a year. Amazing stuff.

Aaron Ace Madison im glad someone shares the same thoughts about this with me
Yesterday at 1:55pmByron Wilson yo I am really trying to figure out what people dont like about it? this is a serious question, Yea taxes are going to go up a little but many small business right now are cutting benefits or cutting hours to disqualify employees from benefits, or reducing the contributions. Its ugly right now how does this make healthcare worse I want to know.
Yesterday at 2:06pmChris Vining Tell me you are kidding Byron! Y shoud I as a small business owner be penalized and be told by the government what to provide my employees with. In turn what will happen is more companies will shut there doors. Who will pay! Where does the money come from? There is a reason why more people are against this, because it's a joke!
Yesterday at 2:42pmByron Wilson Chris there is a huge credit to small business owners in the plan. I am a small business owner also essentially you would have to get with some1 like myself and do consulting. My firm actually has many very large business clients who we consult for and we actually increase benefits and save them money. Problem is people just arent aware of alot ...

of options. I am saving a company now 100-150k a year in insurance premiums and their employees actually get better benefits. You have to look inside the structure already in place and find the holes to benefit your company. I get what ur sayin on the surface thou.
Yesterday at 3:16pmMichelle Cinotti Vining here's the biggest problem.............. we are spent! we have no $$$$ and we already give to those who don't have, i think there should be some serious regulations put on the insurance companies, but it is not my duty to provide for someone who doesn't or can't do for themselves. that's why there is disability and other programs section 8, medicaid, medicare and sooooo on!!!

the bottom line is they can't give something away to someone with out first taking it away from someone else!

Yesterday at 3:38pmChris Vining Key word is "in" the plan! If me as a small business owner am forced to have insurance, people will get let go! There is only so much money to go around. Therefore by electing NOT to enroll I get penalized either way it "costs" me money! With more small businesses closing doors everyday there is NO way this can help out anyone. Who pays for this...we all do and in turn no one wins!
Yesterday at 3:46pmByron Wilson what u guys are missing that in millions of people who cant get emploeed now to get benefits. Has nothing to do with poor and rich. I did apolicy friday for a 57 yr old man a 55yr old woman and their daughter 1600 a month, because they have preexistings. Their insurance payment is more than their mortgage. So what do I do at that point pay 600 for cobra, take another job with no pay just to get benefits, or roll the dice again like i did and 07 went 7 days with out insurance 90 k in bills.
Yesterday at 3:57pmByron Wilson Chris big business are now cost shifting benefits to the employees now where in some cases their portion of their policy is 3 and 4xs what they were. Now you have people making 400 plus less dollars a month because their companies are cost shifting. The only real fix is for people to get healthier, but if the government got involved with that we would really be socialist. Something had and has to be done i think its a step in the right direction.
Yesterday at 4:01pmChris Vining Byron I'm gonna leave this alone cuz i like you. But trust me you are wrong, this hurts everyone in the long term. You cant spend what you dont have bottom line.
Yesterday at 4:05pmByron Wilson They said the samething about medicare/caid in the 60's and social security, and for the matter even the civil rights movement what scrutinized heavily when there was changed. All those programs in the long run turned out ok. Any change is gonna make us all uncomfortable im just saying look at the good in it.
Yesterday at 4:26pmChris Vining What is happening is we are asking the government to provide health care! The bill basically says you must provide more coverage than whats being provided today but do it at a lower cost and everyone in america must buy it! HOW!!!!

Yesterday at 5:11pmMichael Mcqueen Byron.......... Have you ever been to a VA hospital?
When Brenda and Jake purchased their life insurance policies 20 years ago, they thought they did things the right way. They assessed their insurance needs, accounting for their home mortgage, the projected college education costs of their children, and their living expenses. Well, that was then. . . and this is now.

Recently, as they contemplated retirement, the couple reevaluated their insurance needs. They were surprised to discover that their insurance coverage was inadequate. How could this be? The answer, in a word, is inflation.

Because inflation affects purchasing power, it may also affect life insurance needs. For couples like Brenda and Jake, inflation means that life insurance coverage that was adequate years ago may now be insufficient. With this in mind, consider three of the more common uses for life insurance proceeds that may be affected by inflation:

Paying Off Your Mortgage. Like all markets, the housing market may experience upturns and downturns, but in general, home values tend to rise over time. In addition, greater employment opportunities, dual income households, and changing family dynamics have prompted many families to move or upgrade their homes. If you have recently moved, purchased a larger home, or remodeled your home, you may consider increasing your life insurance to help cover larger mortgage obligations in the event of an untimely death.

Funding Future College Expenses. If you are planning on sending your children to college, you may be concerned about the rising costs of higher education. Compared to the previous year, the average annual cost of tuition, fees, room, and board for the 2008–09 academic year increased over 5% at private and public four-year colleges (The College Board, 2009). To be prepared for these increases, be sure to factor inflation into your college savings strategies. In addition, have a contingency plan in the form of adequate life insurance to help provide protection in the event of your death. Review your plan periodically, and consider increasing your coverage to reflect the anticipated future cost of higher education.

Maintaining Your Family’s Standard of Living. Everyday costs associated with maintaining your family’s lifestyle, such as groceries, clothing, gas, family vacations, and medical expenses, are greatly affected by inflation. If your life insurance needs calculations are based on your current income and today’s cost of goods and services, your family may not have enough to cover the future costs of these expenses in the event of your death. For a comprehensive insurance strategy, include an assessment of both your current and future needs, as well as objectives, to help your family maintain their standard of living.

Future Projections

Determining current life insurance needs is important, but projecting how much coverage you may need in the future requires you to pay careful attention to inflation and how it can affect your lifestyle. Plan to set aside time annually to help ensure that your life insurance program is keeping up with inflation.
